Happily Ever Endings... Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon

Happily Ever Endings... was born out of sheer frustration. You know how when you read a series and you love it but the last book takes a little while to come out and then you sort of forget parts of the novel? That's what these posts are going to serve to remedy. Happily Ever Ending... is a short post about what happened at the ending of each book that is going to be in a series for people who need a quick reminder of what happened in the previous installment. I hope this saves someone else the frustration that I went through!

Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon

Their love was meant to be.
When Megan Rosenberg moves to Ireland, everything in her life seems to fall into place. After growing up in America, she's surprised to find herself feeling at home in her new school. She connects with a group of friends, and she is instantly drawn to darkly handsome Adam DeRĂs.
But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction.

Adam and Megan go with the DeRuis' to the college in the city to meet with the Order. There, they met the three men who guard the library and they notice that Adam and Megan are holding hand. When Adam and Megan confirm their relationship, the three men from the Order tell them they have to stop. There are scrolls that detail another time when two of the Marked got together and got drunk with power. Their child that they produced was a monster and caused the plague. The Order demand that they break up. That night, Adam and Megan get a chance to be together and Adam tells her she can either deny her power or they can break up or they can try to find a way around everything. They decided to try and find a way around but Megan decides to give up her power for Adam.

Adam starts spending all of his time at the college trying to go through the scrolls. Megan's friend Caitlin gets broken up with one morning so they skip school and Megan turns off her phone. Her and adam have a fight when he gets on her about disappearing. The next day at schhol Aine tells her that Adam is working really hard for them and is stressed and worried about her. She also confides that they believe someone might be tracking them. Megan invites Aine to the movies on Friday.

Aine and Megan go to the movie and they get a strange feeling from one of the men in line. Aine fakes being sick and they head home. Adam and Rian meet them halfway and Adam stays with Megan that night (her dad stays at his girlfriend's house). Megan goes to Adam's the next day and Fionn tells her about his life and how Adam's mom chose duty but still loved him. They stayed together for the Order but were going to split when Adam's mom was killed. Aine and Megan decide to go horseback ridiing the next day.

During riding, Megan gets pulled off her horse and drugged. She wakes up in a trink and is dragged onto a fisherman noat. The man reveals he's with the other side and has the amulet that tracks them and also stops their powers. Adam comes and the man chases him out with a gun. The boat is set on fire and Megan makes it out before it goes under. Adam and Fionn are shot. Megan thinks he is dead and her power goes crazy. She ends up knocking the man out and goes to the hospital. Both Fionn and Adam are okay and they all decide that Megan will embrace her powers and everything will be okay.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
